LOCATION: 118 Rue de l'Aqueduc, 1050 Brussels, Belgium

Since the publication of the EU strategy on adaptation to climate change by European Commission in April 2013, we have had the opportunity to discuss this topic with a great number of you. These exchanges are always constructive but we believe that bringing the different actors of the construction industry together may bring greater understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with climate change.
Erosion of coastal defences, flooding, drought and greater variations of temperatures are some of the characteristics that the built environment will soon have to cope with. How should we design, build our new homes and infrastructure? How do we deliver resilience in a circular economy? A sustainable built environment can harvest rain water, deliver thermal comfort, be energy efficient whilst preserving quality of living for its inhabitants. However, the various actors must be brought into play so that the challenges are understood and the right solutions are selected.
