A no-deal Brexit is extremely concerning for the whole construction products industry.

Any barriers to trade between the UK and the EU would seriously impact our recovery from the COVID-19 economic downturn.

We call for the European harmonised technical standards to remain the only regulatory reference in UK, and for the third-party assessment systems (notified bodies) to remain aligned, including notification procedures. With both conditions fulfilled, mutual recognition may prevent barriers to trade.

Construction Products Europe urges both the European Commission and the UK Government to find balanced solutions in their ongoing negotiations and is prepared to contribute with constructive proposals to this process.
