The Energy Union strategy adopted by the European Commission is built on the ambition to achieve in a cost-effective way a fundamental transformation of Europe's energy system. This will be achieved by moving to smarter, more flexible, more decentralised, more integrated, more sustainable, secure and competitive ways of delivering energy to consumers.One of the issue papers published by Commission services concerns "new materials and technologies for energy efficiency solutions for buildings.

 

EC has launched now a consultation dedicated to "Efficient Energy Systems” and focus on Actions 5 and 6 of the SET Plan Communication (C(2015)6317 – Towards an Integrated Strategic Energy Technology Plan):

  • Action 5: Develop new materials and technologies for, and the market uptake of, energy efficiency solutions for buildings:
  • Action 6: Continue efforts to make EU industry less energy intensive and more competitive.

You are invited to submit your "Input paper" by Monday 15th February 2016 via SET-PLAN-SECRETARIAT@ec.europa.eu 
Based on this Issues Paper and inputs from the stakeholders, a Declaration of Intent will be presented to the Steering Group on the 15th March. In preparation for this meeting, you are invited for a meeting in Brussels on Friday 19th February (10:00-16:30) to discuss feedback and ideas.
