Construction Products Europe would like to bring our members together to discuss the topic of the exchange of information across the supply chain. The need for this workshop has increased recently for a variety of reasons:

  • European construction products manufacturers are legally required to provide information and this requires a growing amount of technical, human and financial resources;
  • The number of characteristics for which information must be provided is growing;
  • The use of electronic tools is becoming more widespread amongst other construction supply chain actors;
  • Building Smart, CEN and other stakeholders have launched Building Information Modelling (BIM) initiatives;
  • The EC is financing data exchange projects for which we have no input;
  • Some European Member States have or are developing BIM regulations;
  • The publication in the Official Journal of the Delegated Act within the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) now allows the use of websites as legal source for the Declaration of Performance (DoP).

Construction Products Europe will provide an overview of the current situation regarding the exchange of information for manufacturers and possible future developments. We will also have representatives from Denmark, the UK and France presenting their views and experiences. These presentations will be followed by a brainstorming exercise that will help define our potential future responses and actions.
