Construction Products Europe organised a workshop on sustainability assessments methodology that took place in Brussels on 4th March.

As part of the European Institution’s drive towards a circle economy, sustainability is one of their crucial goals. EU policy makers are looking for a consistent evaluation of the environmental impact of construction and the EC has therefore proposed the Product Environmental Footprint (PEF).

In parallel, over the last 10 years, industry has developed a consistent sustainability assessment method in the form of Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) and through CEN TC 350 standards.

Construction Products Europe therefore provided a comparative picture of sustainable assessment methodologies and the workshop focused on the future of products and construction works assessment schemes.
