Standardisation of construction products is not an easy task and the Construction Product Regulation has added an extra layer of complexity. Almost two years after the entry into force of the Regulation, a great number of CEN Technical Committees are developing or have already published their revised hEN. However, some of the rules remain unclear. Through this event, Construction products Europe will bring together standardisation experts to collect their ideas on how to best deal with existing challenges and ways in which this important system could be improved.

Agenda: The morning session was dedicated to the needs of the industry and there were presentations from Mr Winnepenninckx, rapporteur of FIEC TEC-1: regulatory matters, standards and quality assurance, Mr Ascensão, programme manager for industry, technology & infrastructure of CEN CENELEC and Mr Nieto, Sustainable Construction Manager of Construction Products Europe. Mr Antonio Caballero, Convenor of our CPR Working Group, introduced the debate on the challenges that the industry has to deal with. Based on the input received from the participants, Mr Sykes, Director General of Construction Products Europe, presented some conclusions and proposed a way forward to be shared with other stakeholders and the European Commission.
